Grocery Shopping

On our first day in our new home, we went grocery shopping in a haze of jet lag. We were met with the challenge of figuring out what we were buying. Is it sugar, MSG, or salt in those bags (I later discovered that there is tiny English labeling on the packages)? And what is the deal with all of the expired expiration dates on the milk? We bought it anyway. I have a hunch that the date is something else, like the date it was put into stock (one can only hope). At least we knew what most of the fruit was. Plus there were piles of pink mangos sold in every fruit stand we passed. Not only are they tinted a beautiful pink, but they are enormous, and hopefully taste as good as they look!

Size of the pink mango next to a normal sized mango.

I finally took to brand name shopping, I guess all those American commercials left their mark.

No English writing needed!

Luckily some items were visible through their packaging.

What kind of nuts?

We might not know exactly what we are eating, but we certainly won't starve!
