The Olympic Sky (guest post by Flo)

We started this series of pictures after our first few days here in Beijing. All of the pictures are taken from our living room window and look over some of Old Beijing's Hutongs (traditional housing complexes). In the distance you can see the Chinese World Trade Center tower - at least on clear days. The World Trade Center is right in Beijing's new Central Business District next to the famous CCTV tower aka the Doughnut (oh, and my language school).

This picture represents a very nice day here and some locals told us that there are many more of them this year than usual.

This is a much more normal Beijing Sky. The haze is not necessarily all due to pollution though. It is very humid and much is probably just normal fog.

Sunday the 20th was the first day where only half (depending on their licence plate number) of the cars were allowed on Beijing's roads. As you can see there isn't really any obvious improvement. The following week was actually very humid and hazy.

Just for fun we will post a picture of the sky everyday on the sidebar and once in awhile a summary maybe.

Is the cloud seeding helping any?

Flo you are funny. I like the pictures of the food better than the sky. Or at least throw Nico in the forefront. And I like how Rod is just "jeff's dad." Ha ha.
